A Pendant Inspired by the Tranquility of the Sea

Liu Ho Yu, the renowned designer behind the brand LIU HO YU, found inspiration for his latest creation in the serene melody of Claude Debussy's masterpiece, "CLAIR DE LUNE." The song evoked a sense of peace and tranquility, leading his imagination to drift towards the ocean and the moon's gentle glow upon its surface. The ebb and flow of the waves, illuminated by the moon's light, inspired him to create a pendant that encapsulates the ever-changing beauty of nature.

The Moon's Ocean pendant may appear simple at first glance, but upon closer inspection, its intricate details come to life. The metal lines, adorned with diamonds, mimic the undulating motion of the waves, symbolizing the ups and downs of life. Each tsavorite and spinel on the metal lines is movable, creating a shimmering effect that mirrors the wearer's movements. The double necklace, resembling a flowing river, is adorned with diamonds that represent raindrops cascading into the river and eventually merging with the sea. A captivating blue sapphire takes center stage, encircled by an array of delicate gemstones.

The realization of this design required meticulous craftsmanship and the use of high-quality materials. The pendant's frame is crafted from a combination of 75% gold, silver, palladium, nickel, and copper. This blend ensures the pendant's durability and longevity, allowing it to withstand the test of time. The diamonds surrounding the sapphire are of F-color and VS1 clarity, chosen for their exceptional brilliance. Notably, an unheated sapphire was selected to maximize the purity of light refraction.

The Moon's Ocean pendant boasts impressive specifications, with a length and width of 47.5mm and 34.5mm, respectively. The unheated sapphire weighs 7.79 carats and measures 14.3mm x 10.69mm x 6.14mm. Additionally, the pendant features 134 diamonds totaling 1.94 carats, one spinel weighing 0.08 carats, 11 tsavorites weighing 0.39 carats, and two yellow diamonds totaling 0.66 carats. The pendant has a total weight of 13.97 grams and is designed to be worn at a length of 22-24cm.
